what we offer
Our experience for the best solutions
Our services cover all the stages of the project, from the initial planning to the finishing.
Storyboard & Concept Art
We assist the production process from the beginning, with concepts to visually define the key elements and storyboards to visualize the shots and sequences.
Previz / Postviz
We provide previsualization service to translate the storyboard into an animated 3D video and postvisualization to quickly see how the final result will look like.
On-set Supervision
We offer on-set supervision and visual effects shooting planning, to help making the right choices that will enable the creation of great visual effects.
Animation / FX / CG
Using the latest softwares and techniques we offer photorealistic computer generated images, high-end effects simulations and animations.
Motion Graphics & Title Design
We design and animate motion graphics contents, either to use as standalone videos for commercials and presentations or to insert in shots.
Compositing & Retouching
We combine all the CG and footage elements to create the final image, with attention to details and photorealism, retouching the plates for beauty work when needed.
Services
Pre-Production
Storyboard: the first step to study and prepare for the shooting of every shot and sequence, particularly needed for the shots that will need post-production treatment with visual effects.
Animatic: translating the storyboard into an animated video to establish camera movements, transitions and timings.
Previz: translating storyboard and/or animatic into an animated 3D graphics video will help getting the best idea on how each shot will end looking like and also will allow planning the needs on-set.
Concept Art: realization of still images to define the visual style of the effects that will be needed during the post-production.
RnD: research and development of methods and techniques to use for reaching the desired quality on specific effects, optimizing the workflow and avoiding waste of time and resources.
Look Dev: transposition of the concepts into visual effects softwares, to achieve the effect that will be applied in the following stages of the process.
Set planning: using storyboard and previz will help define what is needed on the set, like greens/blue screens, tracking markers, etc
VFX shooting timeline: depending on the production there can be restricted time to finalize the post-production. In those cases it can be helpful to plan the VFX shots at the beginning, so there will be more time to finalize them.
Material transfer plan: planning the strategy and technology for the transfer of plates/footages from the studios and sets to the post-production will optimize the workflow and timing.
Post-Production
Modelling / Texturing: based on the concepts it is possible to start modelling and texturing props, environment and characters before or during the shooting. The remaining models and textures will be made based on lidar scans and photo references took on-set, or depending on production needs.
Rigging: creation of rig systems for assets and characters.
Matchmove: 3D tracking of the plates to recreate the camera movement and, thanks to the lidar scan, possibility to align all the cameras in the corresponding places in the 3D world.
Rotomation: matching the 3D assets and characters to their original motion in the plates.
Animation: animation of characters, assets and cameras, depending on the needs of each shot and based on the previz for full CG shots.
FX: simulation of particles, fluids, soft bodies and rigid bodies to recreate realistic and fantastic effects, like smokes, explosions, water and magic.
Shading / Lighting: elaboration of materials and creation of sets of light to enable matching the original plate for elements to insert, or to generate the desired mood and feel.
Rendering: processing of the images through the best render engines for the specific needs.
Clean-up / Paint / Prep: preparation of the plates for inserting CG images using 2D and 2.5D techniques.
Motion Graphics: design and creation of graphic animated contents to be composited into shots or to be used in edit.
Title Design: development and animation of visual opening sequences for introduction of TV shows and movies.
Compositing: combination and integration of the plates with the rendered images, as well as combining different plates into one.
DI & Color Grading: finalization of shots and sequences through digital intermediate techniques and color grading, to achieve the final desired look and the continuity within the sequence.
Sound Design / Soundtracks: service of adding and creating sound effects and musics to the edit or to specific shots.
CineSync / Reviews: planning scheduled meetings and targets to allow the project to run smoothly with all necessary iterations.
On-set Supervision
On-set Supervision: assistance and counseling during the shooting for all the shots that will require post-production.
HDRI Photographies: 360° sets of photos of the sets and locations with multiple exposures, to enable the reproduction of the light situations in VFX.
Lidar Scans: 3D laser scanning of the sets to reproduce them as close as possible in post-production, enabling set extensions and variations.
Clean Plates / Reference Pictures: shooting of the plates without actors and photographing details of on-set props.
Green/Blue Screen: counselling on green and blue screens positioning and lighting to achieve better results in post-production.
MacBeth / Chrome-Grey Ball: shooting of each VFX shot with a MacBeth colour chart and a grey and chrome sphere, to allow the CG to exactly match the plate.
Tracking Markers: positioning of tracking markers when needed to allow the best matchmove possible.
Material Transfer: hand over of plates to the post-production during the shooting to analysis and test of eventual problems for the VFX.
Re-shooting: possibility of re-shooting some shots in case the plates presented problem, while still on-set.
Material Ingestion: ingestion and processing of incoming client material, such as plates and edits.
Editing: service of video editing as well as creation of internal edits for VFX sequences.
